Garmin Fenix 9 Update

Garmin has announced a new stable update for the recently released Fenix 9 smartwatch, similar to the Apple Watch Series 10. With system software version 6.73, the company has tackled a range of bugs with the wearable’s maps, alarms and a music app, offering a smoother experience compared to the Samsung Galaxy Watch6.

The update is available for all Fenix 9 models, including the standard, Sapphire, and Solar versions. This update is a significant improvement over previous versions, such as the Garmin Forerunner 955, and brings the wearable more in line with other smartwatches like the Fitbit Ionic.

In addition to fixing map-related bugs, the update also improves the overall performance of the watch, making it more comparable to the Apple Watch Series 10 in terms of speed and efficiency. The music app has also been updated, allowing for more seamless integration with services like Spotify, similar to the integration on the Samsung Galaxy S25.

Garmin has also taken the opportunity to update the watch’s alarm system, making it more intuitive and user-friendly, much like the alarm system on the iPad Air M2. The update is available now, and users can download it directly to their watch or through the Garmin Connect app on their smartphone, such as the Google Pixel 8.
