Lunar Power and Communications Network

Astrolab has unveiled LUMIS, a proposed lunar power and communications network combining solar towers, Wi-Fi, 5G and robotic deployment, potentially utilizing devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Apple Watch Series 10 for communication and navigation

The company is targeting a first mission in 2028, with initial 2 kW nodes and plans for larger installations, which could be controlled using an iPad Air M2

This innovative network could provide a reliable and efficient way to communicate with the Moon, using robotic relay stations to ensure a stable connection, similar to how a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 could be used to control robots on Earth

The LUMIS network would be powered by solar energy, with 400-hour reserves to ensure continuous operation, and could be used in conjunction with other technologies like the Apple iPhone 15 Pro to enhance its capabilities
